What is a Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR)?


Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR) is an exclusive professional designation through the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOME BUILDERS REMODELORS COUNCIL. The CGR designation requires that graduates meet prescribed standards of business practice, possess a minimum of five years remodeling industry experience, have a proven track record of successful project management, complete a comprehensive education curriculum, and pledge to uphold the program's code of ethics. CGR's are required to renew annually and complete courses for continuing education.


What is a Certified Remodelor (CR)?

Certified Remodelor (CR) is the National Association of the Remodeling Industry's recognition that the individual has met certain criteria for experience, commitment to ethical conduct, and professionalism. The individual who is certified has met various requirements including, continuous full-time employment in the remodeling business for at least five years and currently employed by a firm that operates under the Code of Ethics adopted by NARI and its Certification Board. All CR's are tested and must complete a series of courses relating to the certification. Only truly experienced and dedicated professionals are able to earn the distinction of calling themselves Certified Remodelers.


What is a Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodelor (CKBR)?

Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodeler is the National Association of the Remodeling Industry's recognition that the individual has met certain criteria for experience, commitment to ethical conduct, and professionalism for specialization in kitchen and bath remodels. All CKBR's meet the same requirements as listed above for CR's and are tested and must complete a series of courses relating to kitchen and bath remodels. Only truly experienced and dedicated professionals are able to earn the distinction of calling themselves Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodelers.


What is a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS)?


The Remodelors Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in collaboration with the NAHB Research Center, NAHB Seniors Housing Council and the AARP created the CAPS program. CAPS was developed to help home remodeling professionals meet the need of the 77 million Baby Boomers that will reach retirement age in the first years of the 21st century. The CAPS designation identifies remodelers that have been trained to help retirees and older adults remain in their homes safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of income or ability level, and continue to live in a familiar environment throughout their maturing years.
